Karen Jiran MPT PRC |
Karen graduated from the University of North Dakota in
1990 with a BS Degree in Science and a minor in Athletic Training. In 1994, she earned her Master’s
Degree in Physical Therapy from the College of St. Catherine’s. Karen has practiced in outpatient
orthopedic clinics since 1996. She has developed a reputation for the treatment of complex, chronic
patients using the postural restoration approach leading to referrals from around the region and
surrounding states. Karen’s knowledge of and skill in applying Postural Restoration techniques has
resulted in a number of guest lectures ranging from the Twin Cities Marathon Sports Medicine Conference to lectures at the College of St. Catherine’s
where Karen is a Clinical Faculty Member for the Physical Therapy Program. Resident physicians from
the University of Minnesota observe Karen and her usage of Postural Restoration techniques. Karen
has earned the designation of Postural Restoration Certified (PRC) as a result of advanced
training, extraordinary interest and devotion to the science of postural adaptations, asymmetrical
patterns and the influence of polyarticular chains of muscles on the human body as defined by the Postural Restoration Institute ™. |
Carrie Langer MPT PRC ATC |
Carrie graduated from South Dakota State University in
1993 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training. In 1999, she received her Master’s Degree in
Physical Therapy from St. Ambrose University. Carrie is a certified athletic trainer as well as a
practicing physical therapist. She has worked in the setting of outpatient orthope- dics since 1993
and coverage for local high school athletic events. For the last 4 years she has been developing
her skills in Postural Restoration and has experi- enced its success. Over the past few years, the
growth of her reputation has led to consultations and referrals for this specialty from therapists
and physicians from a large geographic area. Carrie participates in the Physician residency program
for the University of Minnesota, including shadowing which involves weekly observa- tion. Carrie
has earned the designation of Postural Restoration Certified (PRC) as a result of advanced
training, extraordinary interest & devotion to the science of postural adaptations, asymmetrical
patterns & the influence of polyarticular chains of muscles on the human body as defined by the Postural Restoration Institute ™. |
Sidney Rivera II DPT PRC |
Sidney graduated from the University of Minnesota in
2000 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Business from the Carlson
School of Management. In 2005, he earned his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the College
of St. Catherine’s, his Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2006 and his PRC certification in 2009.
Sidney practiced Physical Therapy in the Indiana school system with special education students. He
maintains a certification from the American Council of Exercise as a personal trainer. He has
developed fitness programs for faculty and students at the University of Minnesota that include
sports performance, strength and conditioning, weight loss, and rehabilitation. Sidney’s interest
in effectively treating patients with complex, chronic symptoms has led him to pursue certification
in Postural Restoration. |
Luanne Gerhardt PTA |
Luanne graduated from the College of St. Catherine’s
in 2002 with an Associate Degree in Applied Science. She has worked in outpatient orthopedic
clinics since 2002. Over the past few years Luanne has developed her knowledge and skill in
Postural Restoration procedures and women‘s health issues. She has been a guest speaker at the
College of St. Catherine’s Physical Therapy Assistant program on women’s health issues. For the
past year Luanne has continued to develop her knowledge and skill in Temporomandibular Disorder. |
